Pellet grills come with a major advantage. You do not have to watch the temperature the whole time you are cooking due to the fact that it is electronic! Pellets are also much cheaper than all of the firewood you would have to buy! almost all pellet grills in this time of age have wi-fi capabilities so you can set timers, start it, and the perfect cooking temperature all from your couch or lawn chair!
The pellets are hard pressed wood waste that would generally be wasted. They are then thrown into a chipper and made into a powder. after this the pellets are pressed and packaged to go out. This process can be done on any type of wood. Traeger, the brand who started it all, offers apple, cherry, hickory, mesquite, and pecan as well as shuffling some limited time pellets in!
There are two things to make sure of when storing pellets. Make sure that there is no way that they would be contaminated such as spilling chemicals in the garage into them! THe second is to keep them dry with either the bag or a pellet bin. If they get then the pellets will become soft and mushy, which will not go through the auger properly.
